What is ELAC? ¿Qué es ELAC? 

ELAC or  English Learner Advisory Committee focuses on programs and services for our English Language Learners (ELL or EL) 

ELAC o el comité consultivo de aprendiz del idioma inglés se enfoca en los programas y servicios para nuestros estudiantes de aprendizaje de inglés (ELL o EL).


ELAC Responsibilities/Responsabilidades de ELAC

  1. Advise the principal in the development of a site plan for English Learners. Submit recommendations to the school site council for consideration of inclusion in the School Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA). 
  2. Assist in the development of the school-wide needs assessment
  3. Assist in ways to make parents aware of the importance of regular school attendance
  4. Elect one DELAC Representative and one DELAC Alternate to the District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)
  1. Aconsejar al/a la director(a) en el desarrollo de un plan de sitio para los estudiantes de aprendiz inglés. Presentar recomendaciones al consejo del sitio escolar para considerar su inclusión en el Plan Escolar para el Rendimiento Estudiantil (SPSA) 
  2. Asistir en el desarrollo de una evaluación de las necesidades de toda la escuela.
  3. Ayudar en formas de concienciar a los padres sobre la importancia de la asistencia regular a la escuela
  4. Elegir un Representante de DELAC y un suplente de representante de DELAC para el Comité Asesor de Aprendices de Inglés del Distrito (DELAC).
