Alhambra High School

Dear MUSD Community,

While the thermometer outside reads peak summer, the calendar shows the fall season is upon us. There are many events and activities underway to celebrate the season, build community and support our schools. October is filled with PTA galas and fun runs, caregiver-teacher conferences, spirit week, Homecoming, Carnoween and trunk or treat events and so much more! To ensure you are receiving current information from the district and your child’s school be sure to activate your ParentSquare account.

Our schools also recognize Hispanic Heritage Month (September 15-October 15) and Filipino American Heritage Month (October) with projects and activities to celebrate the rich diversity of these cultures and how their contributions have shaped the history and traditions of California and the United States.

The 24th Annual MRC-MEF Run for Education raised $281,000 for the Martinez Education Foundation in support of MUSD schools and programs. We saw record breaking numbers this year with 672 participants and more than 100 volunteers. Thank you to the Martinez Refining Company, Martinez Education Foundation, sponsors and the many participants, volunteers and community partners who came together to make this annual event so successful!

A special shoutout goes to the Las Juntas Bullpups and Morello Park Eagles for achieving meaningful improvement in attendance for the month of September as compared to attendance data for September last year! Attending school regularly helps students feel better about school and themselves. Regular attendance also matters to our schools because California’s schools are funded in part on Average Daily Attendance (ADA).

In an effort to strengthen and increase our average daily attendance, we piloted Attendance Recovery programs at Las Juntas, Martinez Jr. High and Alhambra High Schools during the 2025-26 school year. As a result of these programs, MUSD gained 1.01 in ADA and approximately $12,500 in recovered revenue. This year we will expand our Attendance Recovery programs to all schools and offer after school academic support and enrichment activities so students can make up missed learning opportunities due to excused or unexcused absences and MUSD can recover critical lost ADA funding. Details about site specific program offerings and schedules will be provided by site principals.

Thank you for helping to make every day count! Get ready to cheer on the Alhambra High School Bulldogs against Dougherty Valley Wildcats in the Homecoming Game tonight at 7PM.

Go Dogs!

Your Presence Matters!

Health-related absences are one of the top reasons students are absent from school. When students miss so many days of school they are at risk of being chronically absent. Occasional absences related to health reasons are to be expected. Please review the information below for guidance on when is sick too sick for school.

City of Martinez Traffic Study

The City of Martinez is inviting families, staff, and community members to review the Traffic Study Interactive Maps and provide Public Comment.

The interactive maps provide an easy way to explore current traffic patterns and school access, including walking and biking routes, drop-off and pick-up areas, crosswalks, traffic signals, stop signs, and other important safety features around MUSD schools.

Your public comments will help inform the City and District's ongoing efforts to improve traffic flow, safety, and access for students and families.
